Pope John Paul II Regional Catholic
Elementary School has been named an Archdiocesan School of Distinction.
Since the fall of 2010, PJPII operated with the assistance of an Advisory Council made up of school parents, community members and friends of Catholic education. The purpose of an Advisory Council was to support the work of the Principal. Advisory Council members were charged with doing research, engaging in discussion and making recommendations to assist the principal in making informed decisions which support and strengthen the school.
In the fall of 2016, the Advisory Council voted to become a Board of Limited Jurisdiction. This decision was made after several discussions as well as an informational workshop and training session conducted by the Archdiocesan Office of Catholic Education.
Board duties include Advancement and Strategic Planning, Financial Oversight, Board Development and Oversight, and Principal Selection and Evaluation. The Principal is the chief administrator who implements policies and planning goals, oversees personnel and oversees curriculum. Board members may serve 2 three-year terms.
