PJPII - A school rich with history in the Coatesville area!
Our school has a long, rich, and historic background dating back to 1907. St. Cecilia parish, St. Joseph parish, and St. Stanislaus Kostka parish all had independent parish schools from their inception until 1970.
In 1970, the Coatesville parishes of St. Cecilia, St. Joseph, and St. Stanislaus Kostka agreed to consolidate their parish schools into one, to be then known as
Coatesville Area Catholic Elementary School (C.A.C.E.S.)
This consolidation then included families from Our Lady of the Rosary (Caln Twp.) and Our Lady of Consolation (Parkesburg) parishes. The school was housed in the three existing parish school buildings within the City of Coatesville: -St. Cecilia was the Primary building and held Kindergarten through 4th grade. -St. Stanislaus Kostka was the Middle building and held 5th and 6th grades. -St. Joseph was the Jr. High building and held 7th and 8th grades.
After 37 years, the C.A.C.E.S. students, staff, and school community moved to the present 30-acre site, and a state of the art facility, located in West Brandywine, PA.
As of January 2007, C.A.C.E.S. became known as Pope John Paul II Regional Catholic Elementary School. PJPII serves the parishioners of St. Joseph (Coatesville), St. Peter, Our Lady of Consolation, and Our Lady of the Rosary, as well as, the surrounding community. The Principal is responsible for the general direction of the educational program and meets regularly with our Board of Limited Jurisdiction to keep them informed of happenings at the school.

Explanation of Pope John Paul II Regional Catholic Elementary School's logo: PJPII's logo was modeled after the school's patron saint, St. Pope John Paul II, whose papal crest contained an off-center cross and the letter "M" representing his devotion to the Blessed Mother. In addition, the "M" is reflective of the devotion and commitment of our IHM Sisters who served our school community for 113 years. The 3 stars represent our three partner parishes: St. Peter, Our Lady of the Rosary and St. Joseph in Coatesville. Stars were also part of Coatesville Area Catholic Elementary School's (C.A.C.E.S.) logo. The flame represents knowledge and hope. The shield portrays the school's CYO moniker, the Saints, who defended themselves during battle. Finally, the school colors maroon and white were integrated and complemented with the color blue representing the three colors in the school uniform.
